Arrow is available for adoption! 🐕
Arrow is a 4-year-old, male GSD x Malinois. He is a fully off-leash trained, well-behaved inside the house, and friendly with dogs and people. He is social, confident, and outgoing.
He is perfect for someone looking for an active companion dog that they can integrate into their active lifestyle. He loves to play fetch, play tug, and go on walks around the neighborhood.
He is fully on-leash and off-leash trained: he knows how to sit, down, place, come, and heel on command. You can take him anywhere and trust him to listen around distractions.
He is also great for someone looking for a dog with a strong physical presence. He is a large, intimidating dog at 110lbs. And although he's very social, people keep their distance when they see him out in public, making him a great deterrent dog.
Arrow is a medium-energy dog who requires at least one 30-minute walk and one 10-minute play session per day. Even though he is fully trained, all training must be maintained.
Arrow's Backstory:
Arrow had to be re-homed a year ago due to an unfortunate incident where he bit one of the children he was living with in his previous home. He was living with two young boys who liked to play very rough with each other and with him. He was left with them unsupervised when the bite occurred.
I strongly believe (and the previous owners agree) that one of the boys likely did something to him that prompted the bite. However, the damage was already done, step-parents got involved, and Arrow needed to be re-homed. So I agreed to take him in, train him, then find him a home.
My initial plan was to keep him a few months and make a few YouTube videos, but I ended up keeping him for a year and re-doing our entire online training program instead.
Upon first meeting him, I knew immediately that this was a good dog. This was not a dangerous dog. This was not a dog who bites a child out of nowhere. This was a good, strong, confident dog, with a complete lack of guidance, boundaries, and structure. All he needed was a leader and some good training.
Over the past year, he's been living with me as my dog. It's been amazing to see his progress, and I love having him around, but it's time to find him his forever home. I love this dog, and want to be 1000% sure he's going to a great home.
